O’Connor Utilities Recycles to Raise Funds for HideOut Youth Zone
Working in conjunction with SE Recycling O’Connor Utilities has raised £339.74 for Manchester based charity HideOut Youth Zone.
O’Connor Utilities (OCU) has teamed up with SE Recycling (SER) to sustainably recycle their unwanted and redundant IT equipment. In doing so they have helped prevent both precious resources and harmful substances from going to landfill.
Working with SER, OCU were able to continue to make a sustainable impact not just on the environment but the local community. OCU chose to donate the rebate raised through their recycling efforts to local, Manchester-based charity HideOut Youth Zone.
Located on Hyde Road in Gorton, HideOut Youth Zone is a charity dedicated to supporting young people by providing three things which all young people need and deserve – somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.
Inside the £6.6million Youth Zone, young people are welcomed by friendly, qualified staff and a team of committed volunteers. They have the opportunity to take part in over 20 fun and engaging activities every evening including sports, arts, music, media, dance, drama and much more.
Simon Chow, IT Collections Manager commented: “It is great to see amazing companies like O’Connor Utilities help support their local community, especially when at the same time they are helping create a more sustainable environment.
SER has the privilege of being able to contribute to O’Connor Utilities’ fundraising efforts and are delighted to be able to support such a great charity like HideOut Youth Zone”
